How can you achieve a great shave without the annoying razor bumps? Black men know that shaving can be a hassle and many give up on razors and try electric razors or beard trimmers.
How Can You Get the Perfect, Close Shave?
I'm black and I know some black men just can't use razors. Their skin won't allow them to so they use clippers (not even electric razors). My skin is kind of in the middle of the road, it took me a while but I finally found the perfect combo to not get razor bumps.
Get a Gillette M3 Power Razor for Men (the one that vibrates, but you won't need the vibrating button), this razor is the best razor on the market in my opinion.
Wait to shave until the end of the day after you get out of the shower and your beard is soft (or hit up Sharper Image and buy a fogless mirror for inside of your shower...this is even better).
Buy The Art of Shaving Cream, Unscented for Sensitive Skin and The Art of Shaving After Shave Balm, Unscented for Sensitive Skin. Apply the Cream and let it sit for about 5 mins or until you think it's long enough, then shave. Try not to do more than 2 strokes on the same spot.
Rinse off with cold water and immediately apply The Art of Shaving After Shave Balm. You will be amazed...I was. The Shave Cream definitely has algae and karite extracts to soothe and moisturize the skin. Vitamin C and grapeseed elements rejuvenates and maintains healthy skin....it's the best stuff I've ever tried, and I've pretty much tried them all.
