Do You Know What Are You Putting on Your Face?

thoradia.jpg

Did you know that back in the 30’s radio-activity was seen as something good for your face? Needless to say, they were wrong.  In fact many of the people that started using these products died of cancer not long after using them.

“In the early 1930s, this time in France, the industry launched a cosmetic brand Tho-Radia “for pharmaceutical products, beauty products and perfumes.” The cream, with a base of thorium and radium, had great success in Paris with promising curative and beautifying properties.”

“About Skin Dermatitis” Lets You Learn All About This Condition

Dermatitis, or inflammation of the skin, is a condition that affects millions of people.  And well, it is something that you have to live with for the rest of your life, since it is not curable – only controlled. If you notice you have excessive dry skin along with redness on the skin, then you may be a victim of this condition that although not lethal, affects the way we look.

I have found this great site: About Skin Dermatitis, where you can find a complete look at this problem.  There are many types of dermatitis and ways of appearance, and the site covers a lot of this info.

You can read in this site all about dermatitis treatments, dermatitis creams and common types as contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis.

Definitely worth taking a look.

Winter Weather Drying Your Skin? Here’s What to Do

moisturize.jpgIt’s freezing, period. And this cold weather isn’t great for a guys skin either. I’m sure most of you have experienced dry skin by now and this is really common this time of year. So here’s the secret to stop it: Moisturize.

Of course you can’t solve this by just splashing on moisturizing lotion. In order to keep you face from drying up this winter you have to keep a daily skin care plan. So let’s brake it up and make it nice and simple:

Daily Face Wash Plan:

1. Wash your face with a Daily Face Wash

2. 2-3 times a week use a Facial Scrub (especially before shaving)

3. At the very end (after the above or shaving) Apply some Moisturizing Lotion.

Now that’s not complicated is it? Just these simple steps will take you about 5 minutes in the bathroom and heck if a couple of minutes means I’m not going to have dry, flaky skin then count me in.

I’ve been using this method all winter with excellent results. I’ve been using the Men Science products (see our Men Science Product Review) But there are a ton of other men skin care products that you can use to maintain a daily face wash plan, and all of these come with great moisturizers that dry quick and don’t make your skin oily.

Raw Chocolate Face Pack Review

banner.gifI was quite exited to get a chance to review the world’s First Organic Raw Chocolate Face Pack. I got the package from the UK and upon opening it saw a small, very small sample of the product. Some brown powder in a plastic wrapper, about half the size of my palm.

Ok, I thought, maybe after diluting it this can be used a couple of times. But I was wrong. I was very grateful to be able to review this product, but unfortunately this is only after one use and thus I can not see the full effect of the benefits of the product for a smooth and more toned complexion.

The powder looked and smelled like chocolate only with a little bit of a spice in it. You mix it with a bit of water until it forms a thick paste and then apply it to the face. After applying it you leave it on for about 10 minutes. During this time I felt like my face turned into a statue, because it dries on your skin and give you that stone face feeling.

After washing it off I did feel my skin very smooth and the good thing was that it didn’t leave me smelling like chocolate. I would have loved to try it out more times to see the toning benefits, but it seems to be a very good product and it definitely leaves your skin feeling smooth.

The Baxter of California Experience Part 3

Ok here is the last part of my Baxter of California product review (Part 1, Part 2). The last products to review where the Oil Free Moisturizer, Super Shape SPF 15 and the Invigorating Body Wash.

Once again, the great thing about Baxter of California is that the majority of their products are scent free. Personally I like products like these becuase it aims at just taking care of your skin and not interfering with the smell of your favorite cologne. So the Oil Free Moisturizer did great. Many guys, after we shave, are left with dry itchy skin. Also now with winter coming along, dry skin is even more common. I like that the moisturizer dried quick and didn’t leave my face feeling sticky. Now this moisturize is for guys how have Normal to Oily skin. This means if you have a combination skin of Normal and Oily, than this is for you. (What’s Your Skin Type?)

So what about guys that have the Normal to Dry skin combination? That’s where the Super Shape SPF 15 comes in. This product is made for guys with Normal to Dry skin. So for all the rest of guys who have normal skin, then you can pretty much choose the Moisturizer or Super Shape the only difference is that the Super Shape SPF 15 and UV skin care which protects your skin from the harmful sun rays. This is important for guys with dry skin, since having dry skin usually makes your skin more sensative as well. The Supershape also dried quickly on my skin, scent free, and didn’t dry out my skin at all.

I think both moisturizers worked great. They didn’t leave a greasy feeling, had no scent, didn’t dry out my face and did its job well, keeping my skin moisturized. This is important becuase using a moisturizer restores all the natural oils we loose durring the day or after a hot shower.

Last was the Invigorating Body Wash. I liked this one too, but it was not my favorite. I personally prefer body washes with exfoliator scrubs in them. This body was was simple and did lather up nice. It left my skin smooth but once again, I think it could have been better if it was also an exfoliating body wash. There was nothing wow about this body wash, though it was good.

And here concludes the Baxter of California product review. If you have any more question about the products mentioned in the reviews don’t hesistate to email us!
