Ok here is the last part of my Baxter of California product review (Part 1, Part 2). The last products to review where the Oil Free Moisturizer, Super Shape SPF 15 and the Invigorating Body Wash.
Once again, the great thing about Baxter of California is that the majority of their products are scent free. Personally I like products like these becuase it aims at just taking care of your skin and not interfering with the smell of your favorite cologne. So the Oil Free Moisturizer did great. Many guys, after we shave, are left with dry itchy skin. Also now with winter coming along, dry skin is even more common. I like that the moisturizer dried quick and didn’t leave my face feeling sticky. Now this moisturize is for guys how have Normal to Oily skin. This means if you have a combination skin of Normal and Oily, than this is for you. (What’s Your Skin Type?)
So what about guys that have the Normal to Dry skin combination? That’s where the Super Shape SPF 15 comes in. This product is made for guys with Normal to Dry skin. So for all the rest of guys who have normal skin, then you can pretty much choose the Moisturizer or Super Shape the only difference is that the Super Shape SPF 15 and UV skin care which protects your skin from the harmful sun rays. This is important for guys with dry skin, since having dry skin usually makes your skin more sensative as well. The Supershape also dried quickly on my skin, scent free, and didn’t dry out my skin at all.
I think both moisturizers worked great. They didn’t leave a greasy feeling, had no scent, didn’t dry out my face and did its job well, keeping my skin moisturized. This is important becuase using a moisturizer restores all the natural oils we loose durring the day or after a hot shower.
Last was the Invigorating Body Wash. I liked this one too, but it was not my favorite. I personally prefer body washes with exfoliator scrubs in them. This body was was simple and did lather up nice. It left my skin smooth but once again, I think it could have been better if it was also an exfoliating body wash. There was nothing wow about this body wash, though it was good.
And here concludes the Baxter of California product review. If you have any more question about the products mentioned in the reviews don’t hesistate to email us!

Black men with very dry skin often have an ashy or gray appearance, so it’s important to keep skin well-moisturized and reinforced with nurturing vitamins to promote a smoother, healthier look.
Because hot water can pull moisture from the skin’s surface, avoid long, hot showers and take quick lukewarm ones instead. Wash with a gentle liquid cleanser instead of bar soap (since bar soap can actually dry out skin), and put an active moisturizer on within five minutes of stepping out of the bathtub.
This will lock moisture into your pores, promoting a smoother, more even appearance. Use an oil-free moisturizer that contains nutrients like Aloe, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalene and Vitamins A, D, and E, and don’t forget about the delicate area around your eyes.
I must admit that the best moisturizer designed for Black men is from African Male, the Ikhala Moisturizing Cream ($24.00 at MenEssentials.com) and for the under eye area I recommend the Ikhala Eye Cream ($24.00 at MenEssentials.com). With these two product you’ll be improving your dry skin and also helping South Africa as a portion of the sales returns directly to the African workers communities to improve their health care and educational resources.

How many of you guys work with your hands? A large percentage of men work in “hands-on” jobs, that in the end leave our hands dry and with a sand-paper like feeling. Our maybe you don’t have much of a hand hurting job, but with the dry winter weather, our hands get dry and chapped as well.
All right so you maybe thinking, well its not very manly to have silky soft hands. That’s true, but your hands don’t have to be “silky soft” in order to be healthy. Applying moisturizer on them goes a long way.
If dry hands or chapped hands are left untreated you can really regret it in the long run. You’ll have difficulty doing things without wearing protective gloves, recurrent skin conditions such as outbreaks of eczema or skin inflammation, infections, which may occur when bacteria enter cracks in the skin… nasty.
Normal skin lotions or hands lotions won’t cut it. If you want to use over the counter lotion go ahead, but it can only do so much. What you really need to relieve yourself of dry hands is a hand lotion that will remove the dead skin cells on the surface, and keep the good moisturizers in. Read the rest of this entry »
